Batam Tourism Polytechnic collaborates with the Hospitality Vocational School in Riau Islands through the "Grow With Us - SKA Hospitality Training Camp" training activity

 



Batam Tourism Polytechnic plays a role in improving the knowledge and skills of Indonesian vocational human resources, one of which is the Vocational School educator in the field of Tourism and Hospitality in the Riau Archipelago. In line with this, in an effort to support this program, Batam Tourism Polytechnic took the initiative to collaborate with Tourism or Hospitality Vocational Schools in the Riau Islands through the "Grow With Us - SKA Hospitality Training Camp" training activity to increase the mutualism symbiosis of increasing the competence of vocational educators as a fulfillment of the vision universities in Tridharma activities. In an effort to realize this vision, this program can be used as a means of disseminating the work of thought and training of the academic community at the Batam Tourism Polytechnic to environmental vocational schools with the aim of achieving superior quality human resources in the field of tourism and hospitality vocational.


Furthermore, this project is also a part of the work plan for the Batam Tourism Polytechnic Cooperation and Student Affairs for the even semester of 2021-2022 which God willing, the results can be an academic and vocative service event for the Batam Tourism Polytechnic in supporting the accreditation of the Batam Tourism Polytechnic to a higher level. higher education as we desire, namely to superior accreditation and supporting the Vocational Higher Education Vocational High School program by the Director General of Vocations, Ministry of Education and Culture


This program is also a form of real action by Erica (Empowering Polytechnic Leaders in Indonesia) as one of the leadership capacity trainings among universities which was held on 6-10 December 2021 which was aimed at structural officials of private polytechnics in Indonesia. This activity is also the result of an international competitive program grant initiated by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and The German Rectors' Conference (HRK) through the University of Postdam, Germany.


After the completion of Project Erica, it is hoped that the Batam Tourism Polytechnic can get international recognition as one of the Polytechnics that supports the development of Indonesian Vocational HR and it is hoped that later it will also receive a grant from the German DAAD as a reward for the successful implementation of the "Grow With Us - SKA Hospitality Training Camp" program.


The purpose of this activity is to improve the knowledge and skills of teachers in Tourism Vocational High Schools

and Hospitality. Trained Tourism & Hospitality Vocational High School teachers in knowledge and skills by Batam Tourism Polytechnic lecturers in their training activities and build dynamic participation of Batam Tourism Polytechnic lecturers where the knowledge gained from "Hospitality Camp" can be utilized in adding to the treasures of applied knowledge in schools respectively and also as a means of promotion of the Batam Tourism Polytechnic. The “Grow with Us – SKA Hospitality Training Camp” training activity will consist of two parts, namely: (a) activities for providing material for off-line classes from BTP training. (b) practical activities where these activities take place for 2 days at the BTP campus and a visit to Beverly Gotel to see firsthand how the hospitality industry is from services, rooms and other facilities.
